![]() ![]() Price Chopper Supermarkets–NO MORE 24 HOUR STORES Has anyone else run into this kind of grey area situation? Security may not care if it’s 1 night, but if so, the person I talked to wasn’t equipped to make that distinction. It seems like the issue is store management is leaving it to the discretion of security rather than having a clear policy about it. I highly suspect if I had parked there for one night it would have been fine and that’s probably why there were all those high-roof vans there. I’m not advocating to delist this site as green unless that’s customary when this happens. In any event, it seems like this Walmart falls into a grey area. ![]() When I went outside I didn’t see anybody in a security truck, though it was a big lot and still a lot of cars so maybe they were around somewhere. She said I could ask the person in the security truck, it’s really up to them. Mainly they just have problems with truck though”. The 2nd person said, “No, if you are there too long security will tow your vehicle. She then asked a co-worker, who may have been the on-duty manager or a customer service supervisor, or maybe just a more experienced co-worker – she was working behind the customer service counter. The customer service rep responded by asking if it was a car, and that a car would probably be okay. Not to my surprise at all, they didn’t summon the “store manager”. I waited in the customer service line and repeated my spiel, asking if the manager is available. Regardless, with a cart full of items I had just purchased I asked the security person if she knew if the manager was available and that I’d like to ask him or her if it would be okay to park my van in the lot overnight. As a business person, I’ve always thought that to be a strange concept because THE store manager doesn’t work every hour that the store is open and they are presumably a busy person. Realizing that the map listing on this site isn’t anything official from Walmart and that Walmart’s in big cities are less likely to permit overnight parking, I decided to ask for permission.įrom everything I have read over the years, you are supposed to ask the “store manager”. I didn’t see any “no overnight parking” or “no camping” signs. When I arrived at 7:30pm (Monday) I saw there were several dozen high-roof vans and a few semi-trucks in the lot. Using the map I saw that Store #2814 (Miami area) was listed as permitting overnight parking. I just inquired about overnight parking at a Walmart for the first time and I thought I’d share the information learned and impressions.
